A change is as good as a holiday...

Change is in the air here at Sedonia. The winter weather has been keeping us indoors and we've been inspired to move things around and freshen things up. I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that we've also been receiving lots of lovely new things... including a new cabinet for the shop.

Our new cabinet in the background

We're love love loving the beautiful Rosella prints from our friends at Spacecraft. These have been hand screen-printed onto canvas then mounted on ply. By printing the three primary colours in a different sequence, three different birds are produced. Pretty clever we think!

Rosella prints from Spacecraft. small $85, medium $135, large $185. Gum leaf print $85

Also new in store are these gorgeous ceramics from Danish label Bloomingville. Designer Betina Stampe focuses on creating products using a combination of natural and hard-wearing materials, with a Scandinavian twist.

Bloomingville ceramics. mugs and bowls $12 - $14. Teapot $55

These box frames from Milk + Sugar are still new for us but they have been walking out the door. Available with a window mount in standard photo sizes, 4 x 6", 5 x 7" and 8 x 10". The classic, simple finishes of white and timber are perfect for framing artwork and photos, or simply display them with the graphic print provided.

True Grace candles made using vegetable wax,  now $40 each

New vessels from Have You Met Miss Jones... we're loving the new colour palette. From $34

For seriously lovely stationery, you can't go past Rifle Paper Co.... greeting cards $7 each

Winter colours

We know Melburnians are renowned for their black wardrobes, but that doesn't mean our homes need to be monochrome as well. We have lots of colourful items in store at the moment, to keep the winter chill away.

Uimi baby blankets, made in Melbourne using 100% merino wool. 100cm x 80cm, $140 each
Coloured candles $4 each. Lots more colours in store.
Red metal letters $55. Scandi style clock $60

Vintage Cabinet

Our beautiful vintage display cabinet is for sale. We are sad to have to let this one go, as it is such a beauty. But we must make room for new things and we're hoping to find a new home for this one. It measures 148cm wide x 100cm high x 51cm deep and is for sale for $500. The internal shelves are glass and can be adjusted to the height/arrangement that suits you. Extra supports and more shelves can also be added if you wish. The frame is nickel and the sliding doors are mirrored on the inside and timber on the outside. I can see this one sitting pretty in a lounge room or entryway, it would be such a gorgeous addition to a vintage-inspired or modern home.

Queen's Birthday Public Holiday

We will be open tomorrow between 11am - 4pm. If you haven't skipped town for the weekend do pop in and say hello.

New things

There have been a few new arrivals over the last week that we're pretty excited about. One of our particular favourites are these fantastic Macrame plant hangers from local label Warp & Weft. Designer and maker Charlene Spiteri has taken this retro icon and modernised it, creating her intricate designs with strong geometric forms and contemporary colours. These are a great way to bring a bit of greenery to any space in your house. They come with the glass fishbowl vase but you could easily replace it with a pot of your choice, or even a fruit bowl for that authentic retro look!

Macrame plant hangers, various sizes, prices from $99 to $199

Another couple of newbies for us are these simple round mirrors, with a textured wood frame. They look great grouped together or hung individually.

round mirrors $40 each

And last but not least, we just received these Tripod table lamps. Perfect for the Scandi-inspired home, they come complete with the white shade and are a bargain at $99.95.

Winter Woollies

With the cold weather setting in we have lots of lovely scarves and knits in store to keep the winter blues at bay. In neutrals and gorgeous bright tones, some of our favourites include Merino wool scarves from Uimi and Alpaca scarves made in Peru - great for men and women.

We have also just received a small selection of the fantastic Obus Travellers range. Made in Australia using Merino wool, these are the perfect winter staple to get you through the cold months ahead.
